Synergy with Mydin

Moreover, collaboration with the largest halal wholesaler and retailer, Mydin, has the potential to elevate local product sponsors' brands to higher levels.

Puteri's managing director, Datuk Dr AP Sivam, said that through the OHMYDIN! Festival and other programmes, their brand has gained recognition nationwide over the 40 years they've marketed products on this platform.

He added that it’s an ideal medium for enhancing service quality and connecting with product users, especially since this is their first time as a main sponsor in the gold category.

"The launch today went well because we got to meet other sponsors and suppliers.

"Our initial goal is to improve, get closer to users, and increase sales of Puteri products. We also introduced new products, such as Puteri’s original and spicy frying flour and crispy sambal with anchovies or prawns," he said.

Meanwhile, EB Frozen Food Sdn Bhd (EB Frozen Food), CEO, Chris Ooi, expressed excitement about collaborating with Mydin as they are in the process of launching a new product, EB Crunch, in October.

She emphasised that EB Crunch, made from chicken and seafood, is specifically formulated for air fryer use, making it more convenient for consumers.

"We hope this collaboration will introduce more people to the EB Frozen Food brand," she said.

A proud achievement

According to Unilever (Malaysia) Holdings Sdn Bhd (Unilever), senior customer development manager, Lee Wei Ting, this year's festival is bigger than previous years, with activities that capture public interest.

She said being a gold sponsor for Mydin's programme is a proud achievement in giving back to society.

"The collaboration between both parties has been ongoing for a long time, and the improvements are very noticeable.

"Every product Unilever markets, such as Safi and Carrie Junior, is already widely known. So this is the best combination for us and Mydin," she added.

Wipro Unza Malaysia, hyper-super division head Quek Jinn Lin, agreed with the other three sponsors, adding that Mydin always brings positive innovations each year to meet customer demands.

"Each year, the same program is offered, but this time it’s different because there's a Fun Run. It's something new and exciting for everyone.

"Thus, we hope this type of event will have a significant impact on brand awareness for sponsors," Jinn Lin said.
