KUALA LUMPUR - Despite her demanding work schedule, this graceful host maintains an active lifestyle, engaging in extreme sports that test her mental and physical endurance.

Hawa Rizwana Redzuan has explored various challenging activities like cycling, mountain hiking, diving, and kickboxing. She also actively participates in marathons and fun runs, including international events, to gain new experiences.

"For me, each activity has its own unique appeal and broadens our social circles across different communities. For instance, hiking allows us to explore Malaysia's waterfalls and forests, while cycling builds mental endurance and sharpens focus.

"Kickboxing teaches us self-defence, helping us avoid being bullied, overcome fear, and develop better focus," she told Bernama during the recent City2Surf fun run event in Sydney, Australia.

When asked about her favourite activity, the MeleTOP entertainment programme host, who has previously conquered Mount Kinabalu, said that each of her hobbies offers unique satisfaction and experiences.

"In terms of stamina, kickboxing provides the most satisfaction due to its varied and unpredictable movements. However, for stunning views, I love scuba diving. Malaysia is fortunate to have beautiful islands and diverse marine life, with the best diving companions too," shared the host, who will turn 29 next month.

The former newscaster believes these activities not only enhance fitness and stamina but also help her maintain an ideal weight and overall health, leading to a calmer mind.

Hawa, who previously participated in the Malaysian version of the South Korean reality show Real Men, also said that she makes time to exercise for at least 30 minutes, three times a week.

"Usually, when I'm short on time, I skip rope, dance, use the indoor bike, or do my own HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training) workouts at home to stay active. Even washing the car counts as exercise when I can’t do outdoor activities," she said, emphasising the importance of adequate sleep to maintain her health and productivity.

In addition to exercising, the The Cadets actress also practises a balanced diet and starts her day by listening to motivational videos and Quranic recitations as a way to calm herself and 'reset' her mind.

"Hawa doesn't follow a strict diet; she enjoys eating but in controlled portions. If she overeats, she compensates with more exercise," she said, noting that she is currently participating in 21-kilometre half marathons, including the Gold Coast Marathon and PJ Half Marathon. - BERNAMA
