KUALA LUMPUR - Umno reveals that only 105 out of the 115 names of Members of Parliament (MPs) had validly signed the statutory declarations (SD), as claimed by Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) President Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said that 10 of them had duplicate signatures involving two parties, Barisan Nasional (BN) and Bersatu.

"The actual number is only 105, which is not enough to form the government. Each BN parliamentary candidate signed three documents.

"One, to fully give the power to the BN chairman to form a government, create a coalition government or take any action towards the formation of the government," he said during a press conference at the World Trade Centre of Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL) in conjunction with the 2024 Umno General Assembly.
