SHAH ALAM - This Merdeka season, Inside Scoop is not just serving up ice cream; they’re offering a slice of Malaysian pride.
In a unique celebration of Malaysia's independence, Inside Scoop has teamed up with some of the nation’s most iconic brands, including Beryl’s, Farm Fresh, and Secret Recipe, to create a special line of ice creams that are as Malaysian as nasi lemak.
These new flavours, part of their ‘Lokal Legends’ range, draw inspiration from each brand’s best-selling products, giving Malaysians a fresh way to enjoy their favourite treats.
Inside Scoop Co-Founder Edmund Tan described his excitement about this homegrown celebration.
“We’re thrilled to celebrate Merdeka with our fellow Malaysian brands Beryl’s, Farm Fresh, Secret Recipe, and ZUS Coffee, who will be joining us later in the month!
"This collaboration is about more than just creating delicious ice cream; it is our tribute to the ingenuity of Malaysian businesses and the unity between us as we draw inspiration from the flavours that define our nation.
“This celebration of Malaysia’s vibrant spirit also serves to showcase the incredible talent and dedication of our local brands.
"We couldn’t be more excited to share these specially crafted creations with our customers and invite everyone to join us in commemorating our ‘Jiwa Merdeka’ this year,” he said.
The Lokal Legends range captures beloved Malaysian flavours, reimagining them into scoopable delights.
Each flavour is thoughtfully crafted to evoke nostalgia for the original products.
Farm Fresh’s Choco Malt brings the comforting taste of a classic local chocolate malt drink into a creamy treat, complete with a chocolate malt crumble for the perfect crunch.
Inspired by Malaysia’s favourite cake, Secret Recipe's Chocolate Indulgence blends chunks of rich chocolate sponge cake into a smooth dark chocolate base, swirled with creamy custard.
Beryl’s Tiramisu Almond Chocolate combines the luxurious flavours of tiramisu with Beryl’s signature almonds and rich cocoa, making it a dream for chocolate lovers.
But the celebrations don’t stop there. Inside Scoop has hinted at a ZUS Coffee-inspired flavour set to launch later in the month, promising yet another delightful treat for ice cream enthusiasts.
Adding to the experience, each single-scoop serving comes in a custom cup sleeve designed to reflect the collaborating brand’s colours and proudly display the words ‘Lokal Legends.’
It’s a small but meaningful nod to the partnerships that make this Merdeka special.

This Merdeka, their Lokal Legends range is available at all Inside Scoop outlets across Malaysia from Aug 12 through Malaysia Day on Sept 16.
