Ink still on fingers, Nenggiri residents get second ATM

The two facilities were eagerly awaited by over 30,000 residents, as they no longer needed to travel 50km to withdraw money now that the area was equipped with ATMs.

GUA MUSANG - With ink still on their fingers, the Nenggiri state constituency residents receive a second Automated Teller Machine (ATM) in Bertam Baru here, following the conclusion of the recent by-election on Saturday.

On Aug 14, an ATM was installed in Jerek Baru, just three days before the residents of Nenggiri state constituency went to the polls.

The two facilities were eagerly awaited by over 30,000 residents, as they no longer needed to travel 50 kilometres (km) to withdraw money now that the area was equipped with ATMs.

Newly-elected Nenggiri assemblyman Mohd Azmawi Fikri Abdul Ghani better known as Awie said the ATMs provided convenience for residents in Bertam Lama, Bertam Baru, Limau Kasturi and surrounding areas.

"From now on, if you need to withdraw money, we have an ATM for the convenience of the residents here.

"Thanks to RHB Bank and everyone who has facilitated this," he said via his TikTok account.

The ATM was located in front of the Bertam Baru police station.

It was previously reported that over 30,000 residents of the Nenggiri expressed relief and happiness as they no longer have to travel 50km to withdraw money now that the area was equipped with ATM facilities.

A survey by Sinar Harian at SMS Maju Solutions, Jerek Baru, the location where the ATM was installed, showed that most residents were touched and grateful that their "voices" were heard by the authorities.

The machine was fully installed and started being used by residents in the Nenggiri state assembly on Wednesday.
