KUALA LUMPUR - Two boys, initially reported missing, were discovered trapped for approximately nine hours in an elevator at an apartment building here on Monday.

The aunt of one of the boys, who only wanted to be known as Ina shared that her 10-year-old nephew had left his home at Desa Petaling flat to buy bread and meet a friend at the nearby Pangsaria Apartment.

“I was informed that my brother's son left around 2pm, but by 10pm, he still has yet to return.

"Our family searched the surrounding area and was extremely worried,” she told Sinar on Tuesday.

The family was relieved when the boys were found safe around 1am on Tuesday.

“They were trapped in the elevator for a long time.

"The doors eventually opened on their own, and they emerged hungry and sleepy. We are thankful that everything turned out fine,” Ina added.
