Fortune teller allegedly raped woman over the year
Initial investigations revealed that the victim met the suspect through social media and believed that the suspect could predict her future.
SEPANG - The actions of a fortune teller who allegedly raped a woman over the past year backfired when he was arrested on Friday.
Sepang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Kamarul Azran Wan Yusof said the victim lodged a police report at around 1.54am that day claiming that she was raped by the suspect near Puchong.
"Initial investigations revealed that the victim met the suspect through social media and believed that the suspect could predict her future.
"The victim then lodged a police report claiming that the suspect had raped her," he said in a statement, today.
Wan Kamarul said the investigation led to the arrest of a man believed to be involved in the incident.
"The 34-year-old suspect was arrested at around 11.15pm in the Puchong area the same day.
"The suspect is currently remanded for five days for further investigation under Section 376 of the Penal Code," he said.
Previously, it was reported that a woman suffered misfortune when she became the victim of rape by a man who was a fortune teller, over the past year.
