Nidza Afham’s case: 'If there was ill intent, retribution will come' – Mother

She has fully entrusted the police with the decision regarding the autopsy results of her son's death.

SHAH ALAM - The mother of the late Muhammad Nidza Afham Mokhtar, 23, who was found dead in Sungai Klang, has left the decision regarding the autopsy results to the police.

His mother Irni Yusmira Istihat, 54, said that despite her sorrow over the loss of her fifth child out of seven siblings, she accepted the will of God.

"What happened to Afham, I accept because if there was any ill intent, it will surely be met with appropriate retribution," she said after the burial of the Nidza Afham at the Bandar Puncak Alam Islamic Cemetery on Thursday.

Irni Yusmira said that after being informed about her son's disappearance, her maternal instinct was strong, and she was confident that her child would be found.

"After returning from filing the police report on the night of the incident, I immediately performed prayers and prayed for Allah to return Afham in the same perfect condition he was in when he was born," she said.

Irni Yusmira expressed her gratitude for having her prayer answered by Allah and she was able to see her son at the Forensic Medical Unit of Shah Alam Hospital.

"My heart was at ease seeing Afham's face and when I bathed him, I saw that none of his limbs were broken.

"Alhamdulillah, Allah has given me that completeness as He did when I gave birth to him," she said.

Meanwhile, Nidza Afham's eldest brother, Nidza Irfan Mokhtar, 33, hoped that the authorities would conduct a thorough investigation to unravel the circumstances of his brother's death.

"Certainly, our family will miss the laughter and jokes of the deceased, but we accept his passing," he said.

Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan confirmed that Nidza Afham's death has been classified as sudden death (SDR).

He said that the autopsy was conducted from 11 am to 3pm at Shah Alam Hospital on Thursday.

Earlier, the body of the late Nidza Afham, found dead in the Sungai Klang, was laid to rest at 6.45pm.

Prior to this, the body of the fifth child out of seven siblings was prayed over at Puncak Alam Mosque and then transported in a hearse from the Forensic Medical Unit of Shah Alam Hospital.

The cemetery was filled with sorrowful emotions as the body arrived for burial.

Approximately hundreds of family members, relatives, and friends attended the funeral of the late Nidza Afham.

The singer was reported missing after going jogging at Stadium Klang around 11.53pm on Tuesday.

Subsequently, Nidza Afham's wallet and mobile phone were found at the Jambatan Sungai Klang.

His body was later discovered near Jalan Tepi Sungai, Solok Sungai, Taman Telok Pulai Indah, at 7pm on Wednesday.

Nidza Afham had previously participated in the reality show ‘I Can See Your Voice ‘ before releasing a single titled ‘Ternyata Bukan Aku.’
