Police classify Nidza Afham's case as sudden death

The cause of death is 'pending laboratory investigation' and there are no other physical injuries.

SHAH ALAM - The investigation into the death of Muhammad Nidza Afham Mokhtar, 23, has been classified as sudden death (SDR).

Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said that the post-mortem was conducted from 11am to 3pm at Shah Alam Hospital on Thursday.

"The cause of death is 'pending laboratory investigation' and there are no other physical injuries.

"The investigation will continue as SDR," he said in a statement on Thursday.

He urged the public with any information to come forward and provide details to the Klang Selatan District Police Headquarters at 03-33762222 or any nearby police station.

Earlier, the hearse carrying Nidza Afham's body left the Forensic Medicine Unit of Shah Alam Hospital at 5.04pm heading to Masjid Puncak Alam for the funeral prayers.

On Wednesday, the body of a man found floating in the Sungai Klang at around 7.30pm was confirmed to be Nidza Afham, who had been reported missing since Tuesday.

The report on the incident was made by the victim's family member at 4.22am on Wednesday, stating that Nidza, wearing a blue-black shirt, had left his home in Bandar Puteri, Klang, using e-hailing services to go jogging at Stadium Sultan Sulaiman, Klang.
