KLANG - "I accept what has happened even though Am was found no longer alive,” said the grieving father of Muhammad Nidza Afham Mokhtar following the discovery of his son’s body at Jalan Tepi Sungai near the Klang River here on Wednesday evening.

Mokhtar Mahmud, 57, said he received a call about the incident around 7.30pm while on his way home to Saujana Utama, Sungai Buloh.

"One of my children informed me that the police had found a body, believed to be him. Only Allah knows how I felt at that moment.

"I was determined and promised myself that no matter what happens, I must be strong and accept this, even though Am is no longer alive," he said when met at the site where the body was found.

Describing the death of his fifth child out of seven siblings as having a profound impact on his family, Mokhtar said that Am was a good child who often helped his siblings.

"I would describe Am as a very obedient child who did not hesitate to assist his siblings. The last time I saw him was at a wedding of another son last month.

"The last communication I had with Am was via WhatsApp yesterday afternoon, when he mentioned he wanted to give some pocket money," he said.

He added that he left all matters related to the case to the police for further investigation.

"All I can say is, Am has been found. I leave everything to the police.

"As a father, I pray that the entire process for Am will run smoothly and made easy, including for those who prayed for Am to be found," he said.

Meanwhile, Klang Selatan District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Cha Hoong Fong confirmed the discovery of a male body by the riverbank around 7pm.

"The body was found by a local fisherman about 2km from the bridge location.

"Further investigation is ongoing, and the police are awaiting the autopsy report from the hospital," he said.

Previously, the police confirmed receiving a report of the missing person, a singer, who left home at 7.45pm on Tuesday.

The police received the report about the incident from the victim’s sibling at 4.22am, stating that the victim, wearing a black-blue shirt, had left the house in Bandar Puteri, Klang using e-hailing services to Stadium Sultan Sulaiman, Klang for a jog.

The last known location of Nidza Afham was at Kota Bridge, near the Royal Klang Town Council.

Nidza Afham had previously participated in the reality show "I Can See Your Voice 3" before releasing a single titled "Ternyata Bukan Aku."
