Feast with a view at Aras Restaurant, KL Tower
Previously known as Atmosphere 360, Kl Tower’s revolving restaurant is now called Aras Restaurant.
Living in Kuala Lumpur, it’s easy to get caught up in the daily grind, where the city becomes little more than a backdrop to our busy lives.
The things that we see everyday, we might take them for granted. But even the most familiar places need a fresh perspective. Playing tourist in your city once in a while to reignite your love for KL is highly recommended.
While KL offers plenty of things to do - one thing we can all agree upon is where to go “makan-makan.” But these days, a simple meal just doesn’t cut it. Why? Because gastronomic adventures demands a dash of uniqueness to it. Only then it will be insta-worthy.
Lucky for us, KL is brimming with cool dining spots but if you remember, one restaurant laid the groundwork for experiential dining and that is the revolving restaurant that sits atop KL Tower.
Long before themed eateries came into play, this iconic landmark was already offering us a unique experience - something that a plain old drive-and-park restaurant experience can’t replicate.
Previously known as Atmosphere 360, Kl Tower’s revolving restaurant is now called Aras Restaurant.
Upon entering Aras located 282 metres above ground level, guests are immediately struck by the luxurious yet welcoming atmosphere. You might be greeted by the Petronas Twin Towers but moments later, the view will change.
Now let’s get to the best part - the food! Aras takes pride in offering a premium buffet selection that features over 70 dishes, each one curated to celebrate both local and international flavours.
From western to Asian cuisine, you will be spoilt for choice. There is a variety of pasta dishes which will be made by request, western favourites like mac and cheese, seafood on ice, sushi, steamed fish, chicken rice and so much more.
The culinary team ensures only the best, fresh seafood for patrons. Aras’ Chef de Cuisine Chef Yasir Omar shares that while the restaurant initially serves dinner only, it is now open for lunch and hi-tea.
A crowd favourite is the Serawa Pulut Durian, an all-day signature dish that combines creamy durian puree with sticky rice.
“The Serawa Pulut Durian is made fresh daily using Musang King.
“The lunch and dinner spread offer different dishes entirely, with each session offering more than 70 dishes.
“With the hi-tea session also taking place in between, it requires proper planning in terms of logistics to ensure all dishes are presented accordingly.
“With lunch available, I hope patrons can come and indulge in the delicious food while enjoying the picturesque view of Kuala Lumpur,” he said.
In conjunction with Merdeka, Aras is offering a special promotion offering exclusive access for patrons dining at ARAS Restaurant for lunch and dinner from Aug 1 to Sept 16, as part of the KL Tower Merdeka Madness 2024 campaign.
"Since the opening of Aras Restaurant, the number of customers has been very encouraging, with over 40,000 visitors recorded since the end of January.
"The free promotion for visits to the Sky Deck and Observation Deck in conjunction with Merdeka is expected to further increase the number of visitors," said KL Tower chief executive officer Nazli Saad.
