Malaysian child prodigy captures hearts with book
SHAH ALAM - Seven-year-old Aayushi Yogeswaran has made history as Malaysia's youngest author to set a national record with her debut book, Unicorn and Little Amanda.
Her literary achievement was celebrated at the Raja Tun Uda Library in Shah Alam, where Taman Sentosa Assemblyman Dr Gunaraj George attended the launch.
Edwin Yeoh from the Malaysia Book of Records presented Aayushi with a certificate, marking her entry into the record books.
Unicorn and Little Amanda, inspired by Aayushi's love for reading, takes young readers on a magical journey to Mushroom Land.
The story follows Little Amanda and her unicorn companion as they explore a whimsical world, play among the clouds, and discover the beauty of rainbows.
The book, rich with themes of magic, friendship, and joy, was designed to captivate both children and adults alike.
Aayushi's passion for reading is evident—before turning six, she had read over 1,600 books, a number that has since grown to over 4,000.
Her debut marked the beginning of what promises to be an extraordinary journey in literature.
Aayushi has already written four more books, all of which are set to be published soon.
Beyond her personal achievements, Aayushi is committed to making her books accessible to all children, especially the underprivileged.
Her mission is to inspire other young readers to embrace the joy of reading and share their own stories with the world.
Her remarkable talent was also recognised with the Top-5 National Stars Achiever Award 2024 in the Youngest Book Author category from Kids Got Talent Malaysia, celebrating her contributions to children's literature and her dedication to nurturing a love for reading in others.
