29 pythons caught in drain near Shah Alam restaurant

SHAH ALAM - Twenty-eight baby pythons and their mother were caught in a drain near a restaurant in Seksyen 20 here last night.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department operations deputy director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said the agency received a call about the incident at 9.56pm.

He added that six personnel and a fire engine from the Shah Alam Fire and Rescue Station were dispatched to the location.

“Upon arrival, the personnel found 28 baby pythons, believed freshly hatched, and their mother in the drain.

“They snared all the pythons,” he said in a statement today.

Mukhlis said the snaring operation took 12 minutes, and all pythons were released a safe distance away.- Bernama
