Malaysia #QuranHour 2024 will take place at the Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin Mosque, Putrajaya on Aug 30 from 10am to 11am.
QURRATUL AINA QUDDUSTHE Malaysia #QuranHour 2024 event organised by Warisan Ummah Ikhlas Foundation (WUIF) will focus on social transformation for Muslims towards goodness in celebrating independence.
Linked to the theme of this year's event, WUIF chief research officer Fazrul Ismail said it aims to provide solutions to current global and national issues.
"We want the community to move towards goodness in celebrating independence; otherwise, a country that is already independent today will be filled with negativity," he told Sinar on Monday.
Malaysia #QuranHour 2024 will take place at the Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin Mosque, Putrajaya on Aug 30 from 10am to 11am.
The theme presented is "Jiwa Merdeka: Memaknai Rukun Negara" (Spirit of Independence: Understanding the National Principles), which aims to delve into the true meaning of the Rukun Negara based on Surah Al-Jumu’ah and Al-Hujurat.
Fazrul also said that the theme for Malaysia #QuranHour 2024 is related to the five Rukun Negara principles commonly recited at primary and secondary school levels.
"In Surah Al-Hujurat, it states the etiquette when speaking, avoiding slander and raising one’s voice. This is not only for those who came before us but is also a cause for today’s society to champion," he said.
He added that when the tasbih is recited in the first verse of Surah Al-Jumu’ah, it ensures that every individual upholds belief in God, which is one of the five principles of the Rukun Negara.
Moreover, he said, the community should take the opportunity to engage with the Quran to celebrate independence with gratitude.
He advised that individuals should study each surah to read, understand and practice its teachings so that the positive values from the holy book ensure continuous independence.
"With the actions of Muslims today, they will be followed by the new generation," he said.
