SHAH ALAM - Warisan Ummah Ikhlas Foundation (WUIF) invites all Muslims to participate in the Malaysia #QuranHour programme, which will be held on Aug 30 from 10am to 11am at the Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin Mosque, Putrajaya.

Its chief executive officer Marhaini Yusoff said the theme for the programme this year is "Jiwa Merdeka: Memaknai Rukun Negara" focusing on exploring the true meaning of the Rukun Negara (National Principles) through surahs al-Jumu'ah and al-Hujurat.

"Through this programme, we will explain the concept of independence by interpreting the Rukun Negara from these two surahs.

"Surah al-Hujurat outlines several morality deficiencies in human beings that continue to affect national unity.

"Meanwhile, Surah al-Jumu'ah discusses unity in general and offers several solutions to serve as guidance in elevating noble values in Islam as the religion of the Federation," she told Sinar.

As the organiser of the programme, Marhani urged more Muslims in the country, including those abroad, to participate.

She said for institutions or organisations far from the Malaysia #QuranHour location, registration could be done online through the platform provided by the organisers.

"The main venue for this programme is the Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin Mosque in Putrajaya, but we strongly encourage each state to conduct similar activities in their respective locations.

"Similarly, for Malaysians, students or organisations abroad, they can also join us in commemorating the Independence Day on Aug 31 through this programme to understand the true meaning of the Rukun Negara," she added.

Marhaini said registration for physical and hotspot participation is still open to the public.

Those interested can visit https://quranhour.onpay.my/order/form/registrationmqh2024 or scan the provided QR code.

She further expressed hope that more people would participate in the 10th Malaysia #QuranHour programme to foster a society that truly understands the meaning of independence through the Quran and hadith.
