Touch 'n Go bags 'Company of the Year' (Fintech) award at the Sustainability and CSR Malaysia Awards 2024

SHAH ALAM - Touch 'n Go Group receives the 'Company of the Year' award in the Fintech category at the Sustainability and CSR Malaysia Awards 2024, recognising the Group’s dedication to promoting neuro-inclusivity in the workplace.
The award serves as recognition of the company's commitment to drive neuro-inclusivity in the workplace.
In a statement, the group said its sustainability efforts and commitment is 'Treating People Fairly' which focuses on empowering the differently-abled, the inclusion of underbanked communities, and promoting responsible consumption.
The Group currently works with Yayasan Gamuda's Enabling Academy and Infinite Minds Academy to provide employment opportunities for neurodivergent talents. It also uplifts the differently-abled community through financial aid and employee volunteering activities.
This marks the second consecutive year that Touch 'n Go has been acknowledged by the Sustainability & CSR Malaysia Awards.
Commenting on the award win, Touch ‘n Go Bhd Chief Corporate Development Officer Lum Joy Deng reveals that the group made significant strides in integrating neurodivergent talents into the workforce.
"We are honoured to have our sustainability efforts and commitment to neuro-inclusivity recognised at the Sustainability & CSR Malaysia Awards.
"Touch 'n Go has always been passionate about supporting differently-abled communities as we believe that every neurodivergent individual deserves the opportunity to achieve their full potential.
"We have also taken significant steps to hire neurodivergent talents as part of our workforce," she said.
She also said that fostering an inclusive workplace culture raises awareness and understanding of the neurodivergent individual's strength.
"Fostering an inclusive workplace culture is imperative at Touch 'n Go Group and we do this by raising awareness and understanding of the unique strengths and perspectives that neurodivergent individuals bring.
"We recognise their capabilities and immense talents, and we hope to create opportunities that allow them to thrive within our organisation," she added.
Beyond their internal efforts, Touch ‘n Go Group supports neurodivergent and differently-abled communities through various outreach programmes.
They contribute to United Voice's projects that help members earn a meaningful living and collaborate with IDEAS Autism Centre on a pre-vocational programme aimed at helping underserved youth on the spectrum achieve sustainable livelihoods.
The Group also encourages employee participation in volunteer activities with NGO partners dedicated to empowering neurodivergent and differently-abled individuals.
In 2023, Touch 'n Go Group channelled close to RM1 million towards community outreach efforts and support for the neurodivergent and differently-abled community.
Throughout the year, 639 employees actively volunteered in various CSR efforts, contributing a total of 2,259 volunteer hours.
