SHAH ALAM - Selangor FC winger Faisal Halim is undergoing physiotherapy to fully recover the movement in his left hand, which was burned by acid.

Selangor FC CEO Dr Johan Kamal Hamidon shared this update, noting that Faisal is also doing lung-strengthening exercises to regain his fitness.

Johan said that the club is allowing Faisal, also fondly known as Mickey, the necessary time and space for recovery before rejoining the team.

"Faisal is focusing on his recovery and is still undergoing physiotherapy as his hand movement is not yet at 100 per cent.

"This process might take some time, but he has begun engaging in related activities," he said.

The timeline for Faisal's return to action remains uncertain, depending on the speed of his recovery.

"We are monitoring his progress daily, and if his hand recovers quickly, he will be able to rejoin the team sooner," Dr Johan added.

Faisal was the victim of an acid attack by an unknown individual on May 5, resulting in fourth-degree burns, especially affecting his left hand, and necessitating several surgeries.

Despite these challenges, Johan said that Faisal is in good spirits and has been able to resume light exercises on the field.

"He enjoys meeting his teammates, and his spirits are high.

"He is very committed to his recovery, but physically, he needs to fully recover through the rehabilitation programme," he added.
