SHAH ALAM - KDEB Waste Management (KDEBWM) has taken the spotlight at the PC.Com Awards 2024, earning top honours and showcasing its commitment to transforming waste management through innovation.

With the iClean Selangor App and the Adtrec recycling programme leading the way, KDEBWM is setting new standards in public service and sustainability.

The company’s iClean Selangor App clinched the Best Public Service App award, along with the Readers' Choice Award, highlighting its role in revolutionising how residents of Selangor manage waste.

Launched in 2016, the iClean Selangor App offers a user-friendly platform for residents to report issues related to waste collection and public cleaning.

The latest update, iClean Selangor 3.0, rolled out in Oct 2023, introduces new features like real-time complaint status updates and the latest news from KDEBWM. The app’s sleek new look, shifting from blue to red, adds to its appeal.

But KDEBWM’s success did not stop there. The company’s innovative Adtrec (Auto Drive-Thru Recycling Center) programme, powered by Trash4Cash, was recognised as the Best Innovative Recycling Service Provider.

This programme makes recycling easy and rewarding, with 24/7 facilities, DIY convenience and cash incentives. Users can simply drive through, drop off their recyclables and earn rewards through online payments and QR codes.

The Adtrec programme not only encourages more people to recycle but also demonstrates significant environmental benefits, such as reducing greenhouse gas emissions. With plans to expand and integrate smart sorting technologies, KDEBWM aims to make recycling even more accessible and efficient.

KDEBWM managing director, Datuk Ramli Mohd Tahir, proudly accepted the awards, expressing gratitude for the recognition and reaffirming the company's commitment to innovation and excellence in the waste management sector.
