SHAH ALAM - Selangor FC is feeling the absence of star winger Faisal Halim as the team continues to underperform in recent matches.

Selangor FC chief executive officer Dr Johan Kamal Hamidon has admitted that the Red Giants have missed the impact of the player, who has been sidelined since a horrific acid attack in May.

"This situation (Selangor FC's unsatisfactory performance) is happening without Faisal Halim.

"When he returns, the outcomes might differ from what we are experiencing now.

"Faisal was the top local goal scorer last year with 12 goals and 10 assists. However, of course, such incidents (acid attack) are unforeseen, and we need to get through this.

"However, I believe the team will be able to bounce back. Right now, we are trying to improve the team's performance from time to time," he told Sinar earlier today.

Faisal, who is currently undergoing physiotherapy, has begun light training but his return to full fitness remains uncertain.

The team’s recent poor form has led to growing discontent among fans.
