HULU SELANGOR - Police continued the search for evidence in the murder case of Nur Farah Kartini Abdullah, 25, at Sungai Trolak, Kampung Batu, Perak on Friday.

Hulu Selangor district police chief Superintendent Ahmad Faizal Tahrim stressed that the search was conducted by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) forensic unit together with the Hulu Selangor District Police Headquarters (IPD) Criminal Investigation Department to find the victim's personal belongings.

"We (the police) are continuing our efforts today to search for evidence, specifically the victim's personal belongings, in Sungai Trolak.

"The investigation is still ongoing and so far, the cause of the victim's death has not been identified," he told Sinar on Friday.

When asked if the search operation would continue at the main murder site, the oil palm plantation in Kampung Sri Kledang, Hulu Bernam, Faizal said that it has been completed for now.

"However, any further actions will depend on the forensic team," he added.

Previously, the police had found a smartphone believed to belong to the victim at the main murder site, while a handbag was found at a second location, Sungai Trolak, on Wednesday.

Last Monday, Nur Farah Kartini's body was discovered in the oil palm plantation at 6pm.

Following this, a 26-year-old male suspect, who is also a police officer, was arrested and subsequently remanded for seven days until July 22 for investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
