MELAKA - The family of Nur Farah Kartini Abdullah's murder suspect is appealing for understanding and support during this difficult time.

The older brother of the suspect's wife, speaking anonymously on behalf of the family, expressed their deep sorrow.

"Every day my sister cries, her emotions have been disturbed since the incident," he said.

The man in his 40s said that every day he witnesses his youngest sister, who is the mother of an eight-month-old baby, in tears.

The third child of seven siblings said that now their family needs to support the 25-year-old wife of the suspect to provide moral support so she can endure the days ahead.

"Right now, my sister can no longer work and needs to take care of her baby. So, please help her through this difficult time.

"Please help my sister by not worsening this situation," he pleaded while wiping his tears when met at Pengkalan Batu here today.

He added that his sister is undoubtedly in a dire situation, especially since the suspect, whom they have known for over five years, was regarded as a responsible, helpful, and diligent husband.

"For the sake of my sister, our family is pleading with the public not to spread any unverified news and to let the police conduct their investigation according to the law.

"My sister stays away from social media out of fear of reading various speculations about this case that would only worsen her emotional distress.

"People are not in our shoes, so they don’t know how painful this feeling is, especially since my sister is an innocent victim and knows nothing," he added.

He clarified that a counselling officer had also visited their home and advised the family to always be with his sister out of concern for any unwanted incidents.

"My sister is going through a tough time, especially since she has to pay attention to her baby," he said.

It was reported that the body of Nur Farah, who had been missing since July 10, was found on Monday evening.

The victim was reported missing after delivering a rental car to a customer in Perak.

Her body, believed to have been murdered by someone she knew, was found in an oil palm plantation in Kampung Sri Kledang, not far from Felda Gedangsa in Hulu Selangor, at 6pm, before the police arrested a 26-year-old male civil servant.

The suspect has been remanded for seven days to assist in the investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
