SHAH ALAM – Friends of Nur Farah Kartini Abdullah, who was found dead last night, have clarified that the married man arrested for her murder was not her boyfriend.

Some have stated that she had rejected him.

According to posts on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), it is alleged that Farah Kartini did not have a boyfriend and the arrested man was reportedly obsessed with her.

"He wasn't Farah's boyfriend; he wanted her, but Farah didn’t want him," said an individual under the handle @muhammadipan95, believed to be the deceased’s friend.

There were also claims that the victim worked with the arrested man, allegedly the owner of the car rental place where Farah worked.

"From what I read, Farah delivered the rental car to a customer and returned with the murderer. It was probably at that moment the crime was committed," @nrfathi wrote.

The same handle also claimed that Farah had rejected the man's advances and there was no affair involved.

Several users on X criticised the actions of the suspect with various allegations.

@alensyamsul commented, "He's married but crazy about someone else’s daughter."

@BornDaddy said, "A news portal reported that the victim was going to expose her 'affair' with the cop to his wife, so he got angry and killed her. It doesn't make sense because there was no scandal with the cop.

"He was the one who was overly persistent (according to the victim’s friends). This story needs to be corrected. It's unfair for the victim to be accused of having a scandal with her murderer."

@Bellee060 also commented, "Married but trying to flirt with a student."

@mayakmrlzmn said, "Dead people can't tell a tale. The suspect could just make up stories."

@MohdShazalAswad said, "No need for a plot twist. You're a married man. Why cheat, then kill someone? No one in this world has the right to 'kill.' May there be justice, and condolences to the victim's family."

@Muzuzxck said, "When there are issues, don't comment or speculate if you're not involved or don't know the details. It’s not a sin to stay silent, but if you comment, you will be accountable in the hereafter. Pray for the best for the late Farah."

Despite the deceased’s friends highlighting that the man arrested was not Farah’s boyfriend, a local media outlet claimed that the murder occurred because the victim forced him to marry her and threatened to expose their relationship to his wife.

This allegedly led to the suspect's anger and the murder.

"The victim allegedly threatened the suspect to reveal their relationship to his wife. The married suspect became enraged at the threat. The victim was then strangled before being drowned in a nearby ditch where her body was found," read the article which quoted a police source.

Earlier, Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan confirmed that the suspect arrested is a policeman serving in Perak.

The suspect had been remanded for seven days to assist in the investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

The investigation into the suspect led to the discovery of the victim's body in an oil palm plantation in Kampung Sri Kledang, Hulu Selangor, yesterday.

Hussein reported that the initial examination confirmed the body as the missing victim linked to the report in Tanjung Malim.

The motive for the murder is still under investigation.

Farah, 25, who had been missing since July 10, was found dead on Monday evening.

She was reported missing after delivering a rental car to a customer in Perak.

Her body was discovered at 6pm in an oil palm plantation near Felda Gedangsa in Kampung Sri Kledang, Hulu Selangor.

Subsequently, police arrested a 26-year-old civil servant in connection with the crime.
