SHAH ALAM - Prominent mineral water producer Bubbles O2 Sdn Bhd (Bubbles O2) has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the National Sports Council (MSN) to bolster the health and performance of Malaysian athletes.

Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh said that the company's sponsorship will support MSN's high-performance programme and youth athlete development.

"The development of sports and youth requires significant investment due to the large target group and the extensive preparation needed to nurture athletes capable of competing on the global stage.

"Such investments cannot solely rely on government funding to sustain the sports industry as a whole.

Also present were youth and sports ministry (KBS) Deputy Secretary-General Ramona Mohd Razali, MSN Director-General Abdul Rashid Yaakub, Bubbles O2 Chairman Arifin Marzuki, and Bubbles O2 Managing Director Ain Azizah Arifin.

In a related matter, Arifin announced that the partnership designates Bubbles O2 as the official mineral water partner for MSN in upcoming events, activities, and programmes.

"This sponsorship aligns with Bubbles O2's commitment to promoting an active and healthy lifestyle through oxygenated mineral water products.

"It will span three years, from 2024 to 2027, covering various events and programs during that period," he said.

He added that approximately RM700,000 per year will be allocated to the sponsorship programme, comprising both cash and mineral water contributions.

He sees the company's involvement in the sports industry as an opportunity to expand its market across all segments of society.

"Our journey in this industry began in 2019, and since then, we have been actively participating in various sports such as cycling, motorsports, football, baseball, marathon running, and rugby.

"This sponsorship marks the beginning of deeper involvement in other events, providing quality beverage support to national athletes," he added.

"Alhamdulillah, our products have now grown and become more well-known not just as ordinary mineral water but naturally obtained with high oxygen content and quality minerals.

"Athletes use a lot of energy during training or competitions, so choosing quality mineral water like this will help them maintain their performance.

"Furthermore, our involvement in this industry is not just a business transaction but creates meaningful relationships and has a positive impact on the company and the local community," she said.
