Spice up your experience at Karnival Rakyat Karangkraf with ‘Facts or Hot Sauce’
SHARIFAH SHAHIRAHSHAH ALAM – Ever watched those daring game shows where contestants face off against spicy challenges for failing to answer tough questions? Get ready for a local twist at Karnival Rakyat Karangkraf!
Introducing ‘Facts or Hot Sauce’, a thrilling 1 vs 1 competition where participants tackle 5 rapid-fire questions on current issues. Can't answer within 10 seconds? Brace yourself for a shot of Malaysia's most pungent traditional delicacy sauces like cencalok, budu, tempoyak, or even kicap!
You can participate in this game at the Sinar Daily booth for three days starting July 26 from 10am till 6pm.
"It's not just about winning, but also about how much heat you can handle. Lots of prizes are in store for participants so know your facts, equip yourself with general knowledge to avoid getting the heat," Sinar Daily news editor Hani Shamira Shahrudin said.
The Sinar Daily booth will also have a Jengga play station and "be a journalist for a day" experience where visitors can interview their local heroes during the event.
Overall, the carnival will have more than 50 exhibition booths from various private and government agencies related to the carnival's concept would be open to visitors.
For the food lovers, SinarPlus MakanFest will feature more than 50 stalls and food trucks showcasing various unique and traditional foods found in Malaysia.
Among the exciting activities provided are SinarPlus MakanFest, Tomkraf Cat Fiesta, Rahmah Sale, art performances, traditional games and village sports, a haunted house, Sinar Bestari school canteen day, uniformed body demonstrations and lucky draws.
For the competitions, there are two categories: school-level competitions such as tating lawi, tuju tin, dikir barat, poetry and storytelling, while for the general public, there are traditional costume contests for kids, classic motor auto shows, best Tomkraf costumes, and village sports.
From July 26 to 28, 2024, at Karangkraf, Shah Alam, Karnival Rakyat Karangkraf will celebrate Sinar Harian's 18th anniversary with a game that tests both knowledge and taste buds. This event honours Malaysia's cultural heritage and appreciates loyal newspaper readers. Beyond spicy challenges, the carnival offers a vibrant mix of activities for all ages and interests.
Themed around tradition and community spirit, Karnival Rakyat Karangkraf promises an unforgettable experience. Organised in collaboration with the Selangor State Education Department (JPN), the event offers free participation and awards E-certificates to students.
