PETALING JAYA - A young man did not expect that an invitation to chat at the home of a newly acquainted person would turn into a nightmare when he was allegedly sodomised at a condominium on Thursday.

Petaling Jaya District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Shahrulnizam Jaafar said that they received a report of the incident from a 25-year-old foreign man at 9.57pm on Friday.

He said the victim stated that he was sodomised by a local man he had met in March at the gymnasium of the suspect's condominium.

"When meeting in the condominium corridor, the suspect invited the victim to his house in a condominium in Petaling Jaya to chat on Thursday around 5pm.

"Upon arriving at the house, the suspect acted indecently by undressing the victim and began touching the victim’s body and private parts.

"The victim is believed not to have screamed because he did not want the surrounding neighbours to hear or see the incident which could embarrass him," he said in a statement on Saturday.

Shahrulnizam said the victim was treated at the University of Malaya Medical Centre (PPUM) and an examination found that there were tears in the anus.

He said that after receiving treatment, the victim was allowed to return home and the case is being investigated under Section 377B of the Penal Code.

"Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the Petaling Jaya District Police Headquarters (IPD) at 03-79662222.

"In addition, the public is advised to be more cautious in social interactions to avoid unwanted incidents," he added.
