SHAH ALAM - Hollywood stars Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan reunites for a photo on the set, shared by Disney's Instagram account, to announce the upcoming release of a Freaky Friday sequel in 2025.

The post with the caption "The Colemans are back and coming to theatres in 2025! The sequel to Freaky Friday is now in production!" sparked excitement among viewers.

The film promises a unique storyline and humour that captivates audiences with unforgettable moments.

Disney enthusiasts, especially Generation Z and millennials were thrilled to hear about the news anticipating its memorable moments.

According to American magazine The Hollywood Reporter, Mark Harmon and Chad Michael Murray will also be returning for the sequel.

The sequel would also be joined by newcomers Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons, Manny Jacinto and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan.

The cast who appeared in the 2003 film Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky and Rosalind Chao will also return.

In the Instagram photo, Lohan held hands with Curtis with excitement on her face.

Recently, she expressed disappointment over not being able to proceed with 2004 film Mean Girls sequel alongside familiar co-stars like Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfried and Lacey Chabert.

Although a sequel for the movie was not possible, they reunited in a Walmart Black Friday commercial last November to promote the store.

The ad featured scenes of Karen Smith (Seyfried), Gretchen Wieners (Chabert) and Lohan as Cady Heron, showcasing them at their current age but still embodying the spirit of Mean Girls, much to the delight of eager fans.
