KLANG - The developer of the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) project has been directed to immediately repair the patch on the pothole-ridden road at Jalan Hj Abdul Manan (Jalan Negeri), Klang.

In a statement, the Public Works Department (JKR) said it took seriously a video uploaded by a road safety activist regarding a broken pothole patch on social media.

"Upon review, it was discovered that the road in the viral video is located at Jalan Hj Abdul Manan (Jalan Negeri), which is currently maintained by the ECRL project developer.

"The damage to the patch that went viral was caused by the developer using a 'cold mix' and water pooling on the roadside.

"Therefore, to ensure the safety and comfort of road users, JKR, through JKR Klang District, has instructed the ECRL developer to immediately repair the patch using 'hot mix'.

"JKR is always committed and concerned about the safety of road users.

"The public is also advised to share (content) responsibly and verify information before spreading any news and information," it said.
