BDS Malaysia disappointed by Siti Nurhaliza's decision to join David Foster's concert
BDS Malaysia appeals for awareness and boycott over Siti Nurhaliza's concert decision.
SHAH ALAM - The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions Malaysia (BDS Malaysia) movement expressed disappointment over the participation of the renowned singer, Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza in the 'Hitman Returns – David Foster and Friends' concert scheduled to take place in Jakarta, Indonesia, on Saturday night.
According to the movement, the show’s organiser, David Foster, is known to be a strong supporter of the Zionist regime.
According to the movement, the famous songwriter is frequently involved in fundraising efforts for the Israeli military through events organised by the 'Friends of Israel Defence Forces' (FIDF).
"In the current situation, where more than 36,000 Palestinians have been brutally killed by the Israeli Zionist regime since October 7, 2023, and the killings continue in Gaza and the West Bank, Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza's decision to participate in a show organised by David Foster is highly disappointing," BDS Malaysia said in a statement today.
The nation's number one singer was previously reported to have shared the stage with the famous producer and composer, David Foster during the Exclusive Concert 'Hitman: David Foster and Friends Asia Tour 2023' at Mega Star Arena, Sungei Wang Plaza, Kuala Lumpur, last August.
In a related matter, BDS Malaysia also urged all parties, including artists, business people, athletes, the government, and the general public, to show greater awareness of the suffering experienced by the Palestinian people.
They stressed that the least one could do was boycott the Zionist regime and the organisations and individuals directly involved in the ongoing genocide in Palestine.
