PETALING JAYA - Is the investigation into the tragic death of the autistic child, Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin, ending?

This question weighs heavily on the thoughts of Malaysians in the aftermath of the heartbreaking incident concerning the six-year-old.

Six months after the incident, public attention once again focused on the progress of the case when both parents of the victim were remanded by the police for seven days on June 1.

The remand of the victim's parents was then extended for another six days on June 7.

During this second remand period, the police revisited the couple's former residence on today.

The investigation team completed their inquiry at the couple's former residence at 2pm on Monday.

Zayn Rayyan's mother was believed to have been asked to reenact the events of the day to the police.

The investigation wrapped up as the vehicle transporting Federal police Criminal Investigation Department director Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain departed from the Idaman Apartment area in Damansara Damai at 2.08pm.

Five minutes later, all vehicles transporting investigators and the Royal Malaysia Police Forensic Unit (PDRM) departed the scene, and shortly after, the road, which had been tightly monitored by the police since 9.45am, was fully reopened.

Based on observations at the scene, only Zayn Rayyan's mother, who is also a witness and currently in police custody, was taken to the location for the reenactment.

Until the investigation process ended, the presence of Zayn Rayyan's father, who is also in police remand, was not seen.

Sources at the scene also said that Zayn's mother was taken to their house in block R, Idaman Apartment.

Additionally, the victim's mother is believed to have been taken to the area of the river, located about 200 metres from their residence, where Zayn Rayyan's was found dead at 9.50pm on Dec 6.

So far, the police have not issued any official statements regarding the investigation to the media.

The media is also awaiting further information from Shuhaily and Selangor Police Chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan.
