Kelantan FC now deemed worthless - Effendi
The failure to participate in any league competition has rendered the Red Warriors squad worthless.
SHAH ALAM - Kelantan FC owner Norizam Tukiman, also known as Zamsaham, seems to be facing a significant loss as the club has lost its value if he wants to sell it.
Action Football Asia (M) Sdn Bhd Managing Director Effendi Jagan Abdullah said that the failure to participate in any league competition has rendered the Red Warriors (TRW) squad worthless.
This situation makes Norizam's move to buy the team in 2020 for RM6.8 million seem futile, and he will have to endure a tough journey if he wants to revive the team.
"If they don't compete in the league, the team has no value anymore. If he wants to sell it now, no one will buy it or he will have to sell it at a very low price.
"However, is Zamsaham ready to let it go for a loss, especially considering the various problems the new owner would have to bear?
"The new owner would also have to go through many processes, such as licensing, to allow Kelantan FC to compete again and I think no one is willing to take that on," he told Sukan Sinar on Thursday.
Previously, Kelantan FC was kicked out of the Super League due to issues with player salary arrears and cases with the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA).
The club then shifted its focus to participating in the A1 Semi-Pro League, with the Amateur Football League (AFL) administrators setting a condition for Kelantan to register a minimum of 20 players.
However, the Cik Siti Wan Kembang state squad failed to meet this requirement, leading Kelantan FC owner Norizam to announce the team's withdrawal from the league.
Norizam made this decision to first resolve the Fifa cases and pay the players' salaries.
Effendi said that Norizam is also facing constraints in trying to recover due to the various issues that need to be resolved by the team.
"If someone wants to buy it, just sell it. Maybe there are people from Kelantan interested in reviving Kelantan FC. However, Norizam shouldn't think about recouping his investment," he said.
