SHAH ALAM - Local radio station Fly FM is playing Hind's Hall by American rapper Macklemore for 24 hours today in solidarity with Palestine.

The English language radio station in a statement it posted on Facebook yesterday said it has decided to put a pause on its playlist today and use its platform to show ways in which people could support Palestinians, with the hashtag #HindsHallForPalestine.

"It’s official! Thanks to you, we’ll be playing Macklemore’s Hind’s Hall for 24 hours tomorrow in solidarity with Palestine. So keep listening to us at 95.8, flyfm.audio or Audio+ especially tomorrow (Wednesday)," it said.

The radio station has been exclusively playing Hind's Hall from 7am, today and will be playing the song for 24 hours straight until 6.59am tomorrow.

It also encouraged its listeners to participate in the campaign by wearing the colours of the Palestine flag to show solidarity.

Fly FM's Instagram post about its unique movement drew attention when Macklemore himself left a comment on the post with a heart shape and Palestinian flag.

The song was named after the building at Columbia University in the United States that student protestors recently occupied, reclaimed and renamed in honour of Hind Rajab, a six-year-old Palestinian girl who was killed in Gaza.

All of Hind Hall's streaming proceeds will be donated to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).

it was reported that at least 36,439 Palestinians, mostly women and children have been killed by the Israeli military in Gaza since Oct 7, with over 82,000 injured and thousands still missing, according to the enclave’s Health Ministry.
