Food delivery mishap: Family ordered mee tarik, shocked by pork rice delivery
What's worse, the 'non-halal' food was consumed by the victim's children as soon as they received the order placed by their father online.
Nurul Huda HusainSHAH ALAM - While mistaken food deliveries to the wrong address might be a common occurrence, an incident affecting a family like the one currently circulating on social media is considered difficult to forgive.
According to a post on Izham Nayan's Facebook account, a food delivery rider allegedly mistakenly delivered pork-based food to the home of his Muslim friend.
What's worse, the 'non-halal' food was consumed by the victim's children as soon as they received the order placed by their father online.
"The food delivery rider mistakenly delivered pork-based food to my friend's house. His children have already eaten (the food), while the father actually ordered pulled noodles.
"The mother is handling an online class. The children are hungry," he said in the post on the social media platform.
In the same post, Izham also said that the placement of the receipt of the order under the food packaging also contributed to the incident not being noticed earlier.
"Usually, the receipt is stuck on the outside (of the plastic) but this one is placed at the very bottom inside the plastic. When everything was taken out, only then was the receipt found," said the account owner.
Based on the receipt shared, the initial order was for pulled noodles with beef soup and dumplings; however, the food received by the victims was roasted chicken rice with roasted pork.
Following the viral upload of the incident, social media users expressed sympathy towards the affected family, especially the children involved.
