SHAH ALAM - Pas has expressed its condolences to the families of Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian, who perished in a helicopter crash.

In a statement on Facebook, Pas conveyed its deepest sympathies to the family of the late president following his tragic death in a helicopter crash in northern Iran earlier today.

The accident also claimed the life of Amirabdollahian.

"May the souls of the late Ebrahim Raisi and Hossein Amirabdollahian be placed among His righteous martyrs and servants," Pas President Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang said.

The untimely demise of Raisi and Amirabdollahian has sent shockwaves through Iran and the international community, marking a significant loss for the nation's leadership.

Earlier, the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) President Pir-Hossein Kolivand reportedly stated that no survivors were discovered at the location where President Raisi's helicopter crashed.

Kolivand also revealed that the crash site had been found after hours of extensive searching in a mountainous region in the province of East Azerbaijan.

Raisi’s helicopter crashed on Sunday afternoon in the Varzaqan region as he was returning with Amirabdollahian and several others from a ceremony to inaugurate a dam on Iran’s border with Azerbaijan.
