ReSkills champions sustainability with myESG100 launch

KUALA LUMPUR - ReSkills, Malaysia’s premier subscription-based global online learning platform, is taking the next big step in curating sustainability-centric leadership with the launch of myESG100.

Amidst a growing call for improved sustainability practices on both a local and global level, this initiative focuses on championing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) values.

MyESG100’s aim — neatly summed in the tagline “Making Sustainability Everyone’s Priority” — is to redefine and revolutionise responsible business practices through monthly conversations themed around the topic.

Held at the ReSkills Hub on May 14, the launch event started with an opening address by myESG100 founder Ken Lim, followed by a short speech by MATRADE ESG Unit head Edison Choong.

Quickly getting the ball rolling, the launch event also marked the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between myESG100 with ESG Malaysia, National ESG Research Institute, BNC Malaysia, Yeoh Foundation, key players in the area of ESG entrepreneurship and youth development.

In bringing them under a single unit, myESG100 aims to develop and improve awareness of the relevance of ESG in a world seeking sustainable solutions, while connecting with like-minded individuals, industry leaders, and experts in the field of sustainability.

Efforts to that end include curating opportunities for engaging discussions, as well as workshops, and networking sessions aimed at exploring innovative solutions to pressing sustainability challenges.

At the heart of myESG100 lies a bold vision – to empower communities through Sustainability, Mobility, Accessibility, Renewability, and Technology (S.M.A.R.T). This vision is brought to life through five transformative pillars:

• Product: Curating transformative learning experiences that empower minds, spark innovation, and shape the future, the Product pillar lays the foundation for change as, myESG100 spearheads innovations in clean energy solutions, connectivity, and democratising access to vital information.
• Community: Tackling the issue from the roots up, myESG100 cultivates ESG awareness across diverse community levels, while engaging individuals, public and private entities, and corporate behemoths alike in pursuit of sustainability.
• Partners: As evidenced by the recent MOU signing, myESG100 aims to work collaboratively with like-minded partners to amplify the impact of ESG-centric programs and initiatives, fostering a culture of sustainability and responsibility.
• Ambassadors: Enlisting the support of influential leaders across various spheres, from community champions to industry titans, and environmental advocates to cultural icons, myESG champions the cause of ESG integration into everyday life.
• Events: Orchestrating dynamic events that raise awareness while inspiring action, myESG100 seeks to catalyse the incorporation of ESG principles into business practices and societal norms.

From fostering the adoption of ESG-based products to igniting conversations that elevate ESG awareness across all levels of society, myESG100 stands as a beacon for positive change.

Collaborating with partners and influential figures, myESG100 paves the way for a future where ESG principles are seamlessly integrated into everyday life.

“All these pillars must work together in tandem if we want to reach our goals to become a smart nation.

One such example of how they aim to achieve this is via the ReSkills S.M.A.R.T Hub. A beacon of green-fueled learning and innovation, the S.M.A.R.T Hub prototype was launched on Dec 12, 2023 and symbolises the parent entity’s unwavering commitment to bridging the digital divide and democratising education.

Harnessing solar energy, the hub offers a sustainable solution that empowers rural communities without harming the environment, making high-quality learning accessible to all, irrespective of geographical or socioeconomic barriers.
