PRM, Independent candidates lose deposits in KKB polls
According to unofficial results, Hafizah garnered 152 votes, while Nyau received 188 votes.
NURUL HUDA HUSAINHULU SELANGOR - Parti Rakyat Malaysia (PRM) and Independent candidates who contested in the Kuala Kubu Baharu (KKB) by-election have lost their deposits.
Hafizah Zainuddin and Nyau Ke Xin failed to obtain the required number of votes, falling short by less than one-eighth of the total votes cast in the election.
According to unofficial results, Hafizah garnered 152 votes, while Nyau received 188 votes.
Meanwhile, Pang Sock Tao, representing Pakatan Harapan (PH), is leading with 14,000 votes, followed by Khairul Azhari Saut (PN) with 10,135 votes.
The KKB by-election, which saw a four-cornered contest, was held following the passing of its incumbent, Lee Kee Hiong, 58, on March 21 due to cancer.
In the state election last year, Lee defeated PN candidate Teoh Kien Hong with a majority of 4,119 votes.
She first represented the constituency in 2013 when he defeated MCA's Ooi Hui Wen with a majority of 1,702 votes.
