HULU SELANGOR - Muhammad Nazmi Mohd Mazlan and Muhammad Nazri, twin brothers who hold persons with disabilities (PwD) cards seized the chance to fulfill their duty as voters during the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election on Saturday.

The 25-year-old learning disability twin from Taman Seri Batang Kali arrived at the polling centre of Bandar Baru Batang Kali National School here as early as 8am.

Nazmi said he was eager to vote because he wanted to fulfill his duty as a Malaysian citizen to choose a leader for the respective State Assembly (DUN).

"This is not the first experience (voting) because we have voted before (in elections).

"We want to fulfill our obligation as local citizens. We chose to come out early (in the morning) because we didn't want to queue for a long time," he said when met on Saturday.

The Kuala Kubu Baharu State Assembly by-election, which witnessed a four-cornered fight, was held following the death of its incumbent, Lee Kee Hiong, 58, on March 21 due to cancer.

A total of 39,269 registered voters would carry out the responsibility of voting to elect the respective State Assembly (Adun) member.

Eighteen polling centres with 74 polling stations or channels were opened simultaneously starting at 8am and closed at 6pm
