KUALA LUMPUR - Police are identifying the owner of the social media account known as Muhammad Imran Suresh following his statements regarding the acid attack incident involving Selangor FC player, Faisal Halim.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said that the individual claimed to have information related to the incident involving Faisal.

"Therefore, we want to track him down to see what information he has that can assist in the investigation.

"Any individual with relevant information should come forward to the police, instead of issuing statements that could jeopardise the investigation," he said on Wednesday.

Razarudin added that investigations are still ongoing from various angles regarding the detained and remanded suspects.

Hence, the public is reminded not to make any false speculations that could hinder the investigation.

Since Tuesday, an Instagram user claimed that he was called in by the police to assist in the investigation of the case involving Faisal.

He claimed to possess information and was advised to remain silent regarding the actual incident that happened to the player.

In the incident last Sunday, Faisal reportedly suffered severe burns after being attacked with acid by two individuals on motorcycles at a shopping centre in Petaling Jaya.

Following this, the police successfully apprehended two men separately in Pandan Indah, Ampang, and Bangi last Sunday and Monday.
