Faisal in critical condition, experiences difficulty moving right hand
SHAH ALAM - The national football team's sensational winger Mohamad Faisal Abdul Halim is reported to be in critical condition following an acid attack on him at a shopping centre in Petaling Jaya.
Selangor Football Association (FAS), deputy president Datuk Seri Shahril Mokhtar said Faisal was currently under close observation and will undergo several more surgeries.
"I am saddened to see his condition right now because he mentioned feeling a burning sensation on his skin and was groaning in pain," he said.
On Sunday, Faisal was attacked with acid by unknown individuals and was rushed to a hospital in Petaling Jaya before being transferred to a hospital, here.
Initially, he suffered second degree burns, but a strong acid reaction caused the severity of the burns on his body to escalate to fouth degree burns after the first surgery.
