Police arrest local man in footballer acid attack

Police have already recorded statements from three individuals, including the victim, Faisal.

SHAH ALAM - Selangor police have arrested a local man in connection with the acid attack on national footballer Faisal Halim.

The incident occurred on Sunday near a supermarket in Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya.

Selangor Police Chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan confirmed the arrest, which took place in Pandan Indah, Ampang.

"The investigation is ongoing to determine the motive behind the attack," he said.

Hussein further noted that police have already recorded statements from three individuals, including the victim, Faisal.

They are also scheduled to summon several independent witnesses today to assist with the investigation.

According to reports, two individuals on motorcycles approached the Selangor FC player before throwing acid at him.

Fortunately, Faisal received medical attention at a nearby hospital and is reportedly in stable condition.
