Firefighters remove goat bone from child's finger
Firefighters save the day from sticky situation
TELUK INTAN - A young girl sought assistance from the fire and rescue department last Wednesday to remove a goat bone stuck on her right index finger.
The incident occurred while the eight-year-old was enjoying a marinated goat steak dish from a local brand.
Teluk Intan Fire and Rescue Station chief Mohd Ismail Mohd Yunus said that the victim arrived with her father around 8.45pm seeking help to cut the bone stuck on her finger.
"The team immediately conducted an initial examination and found the victim's finger slightly swollen and reddish," he said.
Using a unique cutting tool, the team carefully removed the bone.
The operation, led by Abdul Hazhar Ismail, was completed about 20 minutes later without causing any injuries to the child's finger.
"This is the first time we've encountered a case involving a goat bone," Ismail noted.
Previously, the team had received requests to cut stuck rings.
A video capturing the fire department's efforts to remove the goat bone went viral on social media.
