KUALA LUMPUR – Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz has failed in his bid to file an affidavit in a case brought by former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak over the addendum order purportedly issued by the former Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

High Court Judge Datuk Amarjeet Singh made the ruling after hearing submissions of the application for leave by the Umno supreme council member to file an affidavit to rectify factual errors found in the affidavit which had been filed by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi in the case.

The issue revolved around the assertion made by the Umno president (Zahid) that the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong confirmed the existence of the addendum order dated Jan 29, to allow Najib, 71, to serve his six-year jail sentence under house arrest.

The matter was confirmed by Najib's lawyer Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah after the hearing proceedings.
