SHAH ALAM - Perlis Menteri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli was not arrested but was permitted to return home after providing testimony to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) earlier today.

"The Menteri Besar was not remanded, he was allowed to return home after giving his statement," the posting read.

Sinar is seeking further explanation from the MACC regarding this development.

Earlier today media reports indicated that Shukri was apprehended by the MACC, suspected to be linked to an investigation involving his son regarding the alleged forgery of false claim documents totaling RM600,000.

Last Wednesday, it was reported that the Shukri's son was one of six individuals remanded by the MACC to aid in the inquiry concerning the alleged forgery of false claim documents amounting to RM600,000.

The entire project encompassing repair work, maintenance, supply, and services from 2022 until the present was estimated to be valued at RM600,000.
