SHAH ALAM - Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) owner Tunku Mahkota Ismail Sultan Ibrahim recently met Portugal legend Luis Figo in Spain to discuss football development matters.

In a statement on their social media page, JDT said that the meeting focused around various aspects of football development, given Figo's role as a football advisor and ambassador for UEFA, the European football governing body.

"The Crown Prince of Johor and Figo discussed matters pertaining to the progress and development of football.

"His Royal Highness also extended an invitation to Figo to visit Johor Bahru for further discussions on how football in Johor and Malaysia can benefit," the statement read.

JDT is currently on a pre-season tour in Spain, playing matches against several local teams.
