SHAH ALAM - Umno Youth Chief Dr Akmal Saleh has slammed DAP Vice-Chairman Nga Kor Ming for attributing the worsening economic situation in Malaysia to boycott campaigns.

Dr Akmal, who initiated the KK Mart boycott over their sale of socks featuring the word 'Allah', questioned Nga's perspective on economic issues.

"During Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s tenure as prime minister, despite boycott campaigns, the economy still showed improvement," Dr Akmal argued in a Facebook post.

He accused Nga of being one of the "stupid ministers" responsible for the country's current economic downturn.

The statement was a response to the Housing and Local Government Minister’s post on X, where Nga expressed concern that local workers were suffering due to boycotts instigated by 'irresponsible parties.'

"We need everyone's help to develop the country's economy," Nga said, urging the public to avoid falling for such provocations.

The backdrop of these national boycotts includes global boycotts against various international companies like Starbucks and McDonald's, triggered by Israel's brutal mass-killing in Gaza.
