KK Mart socks issue: Dr Akmal done giving statement to police
ASYIKIN ASMINKOTA KINABALU - Umno Youth chief Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh has completed giving his statement to the police after over two hours at the Kota Kinabalu District Police Headquarters (IPD) here.
He left the Kota Kinabalu poilce district headquarters at around noon.
He said upon arriving at the airport, he received a call that he needed to give a statement today.
"Initially, it was scheduled for tomorrow as I would be in Sabah, but upon arriving in Kota Kinabalu, I received a call that I needed to give a statement today.
"I said there was no problem in giving the statement and upon leaving the immigration, I was immediately taken to the district police headquarters.
"Alhamdulillah, I have given my statement regarding a report against me under the Sedition Act, which states that there was a video of my lecture in Kelantan," he told reporters at the headquarters' compound on Friday.
Following that, Dr Akmal said he had reviewed the video, but there was no expression uttered for the purpose of incitement.
"I leave everything to the police to investigate and if necessary, we are ready to fight in court because I am never afraid, as I believe we bring this voice of truth and we have not committed any wrongdoings.
"Umno Youth will always provide good cooperation and I express my gratitude to the Kota Kinabalu IPD for providing excellent service and also Alhamdulillah, after two and a half hours, I have completed giving my statement and we are going to continue our programme in Beaufort," he said.
