Woman traumatised as her ‘air balang’ comes with free lizard
The lizard has almost decomposed.
SHAH ALAM - A woman says she is traumatised after finding a lizard carcass in a package of drinks she bought on the side of the road.
Through video sharing on TikTok, user Azie Aziz said she bought 'air balang' for the purpose of breaking fast.
"(I) bought the drink on the side of the road in the Klang area because I really wanted to drink ‘air keladi’. I have already poured in two containers, with a little more still in the plastic and that is when I had a hunch to pour everything into a cup," she said in the video on Sunday.
Azie said she was surprised to find that the reptile species was in the plastic of the drink which she initially thought to be cincau.
"I thought there were cincau in the cup but it is actually a lizard that has almost decomposed.
"I'm traumatised to buy 'air balang' now. Buy water, get lizard for free," she said.
As of Tuesday, the video has received 1.7 million views and 40,500 likes on the TikTok platform.
The netizens did not miss out and shared their own experiences of dealing with the same situation through the comment section of the video.
One of the TikTok users, @hot.milo88, said that his family members also bought and drank water with lizard carcasses in it.
"Just had a chat with my sister yesterday. She bought 'air balang' and thought there are cincau in the water.
"As she drinks, she remembered she didn’t order a drink with cincau and apparently it was a disfigured lizard," he said.
Another TikTok user, @sheqahh said, the food he bought at the Ramadan bazaar recently contained fly eggs.
"I bought turmeric chicken rice at the bazaar yesterday, (I got) free fly eggs on my chicken," she commented.
