SERDANG – The Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia (JBPM) used the service of its Detection Dog Unit (K9) to locate two more victims of the water surge incident at Jalan KP 4/9 Kota Perdana, Seri Kembangan, near here on Sunday.

State Fire and Rescue Department Assistant Director of Operations Ahmad Mukhlis Mokhtar said the two dogs used to track the victims are Lady, a Labrador Retriever and Grouse, an English Springer Spaniel.

He said the two dogs started entering the scene at about 11.15 am.

"Other than having to use Lady and Grouse to locate the victim, JBPM also expanded the radius of the search area up to six kilometres from the area where the victims were suspected to have fallen.

"The rescue team is divided into three teams on the second day of the search today (Monday)," he said in a statement on Monday.

It was reported that a family of five was swept away by the water surge at the scene of the incident when they were netting at the area at about 3.30pm.

In the incident, the father and one of the sons survived, one was found drowned while two others have yet to be found.
