Man stabs coworker for stealing his orange juice during iftar - Police

Police arrested the suspect 10 minutes after received report.

SHAH ALAM – A Bangladeshi man was arrested for allegedly stabbing a co-worker over an orange juice after breaking their fast at Section 36, here, yesterday.

District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said the incident took place at a factory worker's hostel at 7.20pm and a report was lodged by a man who was at the scene.

“The victim was a 49-year-old Bangladeshi man who worked as a public worker.

“The victim and the suspect, 51, lived together in a container that was used as a factory hostel.

“The incident happened as the suspect gets angry when the victim drank his orange juice while breaking fast,” he said in a statement.

Iqbal added the suspect allegedly stabbed the victim several times using a knife that was taken from the kitchen.

Police, he said, arrested the suspect 10 minutes after the report was lodged and seized a knife allegedly used in the incident.

Iqbal said the suspect would be remanded at the Shah Alam Court today.
