Party will reject one-sided CSA offer - Pas spiritual leader
'Confidence and Supply Agreement must benefit all parties'
SHAH ALAM - Pas spiritual leader Datuk Hashim Jasin disclosed that the party would decline the Confidence and Supply Agreement (CSA) proposed by the government if it proves to be one-sided.
He stressed that Pas would not entertain any agreement that could potentially disadvantage the party.
"I haven't had discussions yet with Pas leadership to gather insights.
"However, if both Pas and Bersatu reject it, then there must be valid reasons for not accepting the agreement," he told Sinar yesterday.
Hashim made these remarks in response to statements by Hulu Terengganu MP Datuk Rosol Wahid, outlining two conditions leading to the rejection of the CSA by Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) and Pas.
Rosol had mentioned that one condition stipulates that the opposition must refrain from disrupting or impeding any government initiatives until the 16th General Election (GE16), with violations subject to legal action.
Hashim reiterated his confidence that these conditions are indeed present within the agreement.
"I'm certain they exist. So, if Pas refuses, it signifies that accepting the terms could be detrimental," he added.
He also pointed out that many past discussions with the government yielded no results due to the current government's lack of commitment to equitable agreements.
Meanwhile, Armada Youth Chief Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal said that he had yet to examine the details of the agreement.
"No comment. I haven't examined that document (CSA)," he said.
On Friday, a Bersatu MP revealed that the government had extended the CSA offer to Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin in exchange for funding allocations for constitencies under the control of Perikatan Nasional (PN).
Ketereh MP from Perikatan Nasional (PN) Datuk Khlir Mohd Nor disclosed that an offer had been presented to Hamzah, but certain conditions needed to be met before its acceptance.
