PUTRAJAYA - The Education Ministry urges schools to subscribe to three main Malay language newspapers namely Berita Harian, Utusan Malaysia and Sinar Harian.

Through a statement, the ministry announced the move as an effort to strengthen the mastery of the Malay language among students by inculcating the practice of reading newspapers in schools.

"The purchase of newspapers can be done directly by the school using existing allocations," the ministry said.

The ministry believes that doing so could help improve the mastery of the national language among students.
